SBB ENERGY SA signed a contract with OPEC GRUDZIĄDZ for the construction of biomass boiler unit.

We are pleased to announce that on 4th November 2022 SBB ENERGY SA signed a contract with OPEC GRUDZIĄDZ for the execution of the project carried out in the “design and build” formula under the name “Development of high-efficiency cogeneration through the construction of a biomass boiler unit at the Łąkowa CHP plant in Grudziądz”. It is the first investment of this type in Poland where loose straw is used as fuel.

The project including the construction of a biomass cogeneration unit, construction of a highly efficient steam boiler in the grate technology with fuel capacity <15 MW, supplying steam to the turbine island of the Łąkowa Heat and Power Plant “

Among others, the commissioning of the new 12,5 MW boiler will help limit the futire increases in the prices of heat produced by OPEC GRUDZIĄDZ.

Scope of works will include:

new straw-fired boiler
installation of unloading, storage and handling of straw to the boiler
dedust installation system
modernization of the heat exchanger
yards, access roads.

The contractor is a consortium of SBB ENERGY SA (Leader) and DP CLEAN TECH POLAND SA (Participant).

The project is scheduled for completion by 3rd October 2024 roku.
