Project titled “Hydrogen energy storage system – Dynamic load reduction system for the traction substation, operating using a high-power storage tank”

The project is implemented under Measure 1.2: “Sectoral R&D programs” of the Smart Growth Operational Program 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund The purpose of building the system is to store all the energy produced by the PV farm, not used for traction purposes.

Any surpluses can be used to supply the station’s own needs. The system will cooperate with the existing battery energy storage with a capacity of 5.5 MW and a capacity of 1.2 MWh. The installation is the first of approximately 300 “power banks” planned for the railways.
