Project description

The investment is carried out on a “turnkey” basis by a consortium of companies: SBB ENERGY SA – Consortium Leader, and AJ PROFIBUD Sp. z o.o. – Consortium Member.

The subject of the contract is: the design, construction, commissioning, and handover for operation of a thermal treatment installation for energy fractions separated in the municipal waste processing process, with energy recovery in the form of high-efficiency cogeneration. The scope of the commissioned work will particularly include the design, construction, assembly, diagnostics, protective and verification measurements, start-up, commissioning, and handover of the Installation for operation, according to the technical and technological parameters specified in the Functional and Utility Program (PFU), as well as as-built documentation with all required attachments.

The main elements of the installation include the following sectors and technological units:

• Fuel Reception and Buffering Unit (unloading hall, bunker)
• Combustion Unit, recovery boiler with grate
• Energy Conversion Unit, condensing-extraction turbine with heat exchanger system and generator
• Energy Output Unit, heat output to the district heating system, electrical energy output
• Flue Gas Cleaning Unit, which includes: flue gas desulfurization unit using a semi-dry method, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) denitrification unit, dust removal via cyclone; the installation must also ensure flue gas cleaning from heavy metals, dioxins, and furans through activated carbon
