SBB ENERGY S.A. has completed the construction of an advanced system for the reduction of heavy metals and dust emissions in the flue gas from the boiler of Unit 9 at Elektrownia Pątnów, ZE PAK S.A.

Thanks to the solutions implemented, Unit 9 now complies with the strictest EU environmental standards, significantly reducing its environmental impact and improving air quality.

Scope of Work:

  • Electrostatic Precipitator Modernization – The introduction of modern power supply units and optimization of the internal layout allowed for a reduction in dust emissions to below < 8 mg/Nm³ across the boiler’s full operating range.
  • Mercury Reduction Installation – We applied activated carbon technology, with just one gram of carbon offering a surface area larger than two tennis courts! This innovative solution effectively captures heavy metals, reducing mercury emissions to below < 7 μg/Nm³, fully meeting EU regulations.
