On January 22, 2026, an official and ceremonial completion of the investment project carried out at the Łąkowa Combined Heat and Power Plant took place at OPEC GRUDZIĄDZ Sp. z o.o..

The project closure marks an important milestone summarizing months of intensive and demanding cooperation among multiple teams involved in the implementation of the project entitled“Development of High-Efficiency Cogeneration through the Construction of a Biomass Boiler Unit.”

As part of the project, a modern 12.5 MWt biomass boiler, fired with loose straw, was successfully commissioned. This investment represents a significant step toward modern energy transformation—responsible, efficient, and environmentally friendly.

By using biomass as a renewable fuel, the project contributes to a tangible reduction in CO₂ emissions and strengthens the region’s energy security.
